How to set TOU (Time Of Use) on a Growatt system?

TOU (Time Of Use) is used to have a Growatt system perform a specific action at certain times. Think, for example, of forced charging of a battery or exporting to the grid.

The easiest way to configure this setting is via the Growatt OSS portal.

In this article, we explain step by step how to configure the TOU settings.

Step 1: Find the installation

Log in to the OSS portal and find the correct installation.

This can be done in two ways:

• Via the serial number (SN) of the device

• Via the plant name of the installation

• 

Step 2: Open the installation settings

Once you have found the correct installation:

1. Click on the gear icon to the right of the installation.

This opens the system settings menu.

Step 3: Confirm the disclaimer

A pop-up with a disclaimer will appear.

1. Check: "I have read and agree to the disclaimer"

2. Confirm to proceed.

Step 4: Read the current settings

The menu now visible does not always immediately show the current settings of the system.

Sometimes these need to be read out first.

In some cases, this can be done at the top of the menu via the button:

Read

If this button is available, press it to read the current values from the inverter.

This way you know what is currently set.

Step 5: Read specific values

Is the Read button not available?

Then you can read specific values individually at the bottom of the menu.

Step 6: Set TOU

In the menu you will find the TOU (Time Of Use) settings.

Here you can set the system to use a different priority at certain times.

The following options are available:

Battery First

When the battery is not fully charged, it will charge up to the set value under the battery settings during the set time period.

Grid First

The battery capacity is exported to the electricity grid.

Load First

This is the default setting of the battery.
The system operates on zero feed-in and the generated energy is first used for own consumption.

Step 7: Send

Send the data by pressing "Yes". The configured settings will now be sent to the inverter.
