For detailed information about the required components for an APX system, please refer to the following link: What do I need for a Growatt APX storage system?.
This article delves deeper into the technical specifications of the APX system, including power management and current protection for various inverters.
Compatible Inverters and Configurations
The Growatt APX battery storage system is compatible with three series of Growatt inverters and four different configurations (in combination with specific power modules):
- Single-phase MIN series (2.5 - 6 kW) | Power module: P0
- Three-phase MOD XH(BP) series (3 - 7 kW) | Power module: P2
- Three-phase MOD XH(BP) series (8 - 10 kW) | Power module: P2
- Three-phase MID series (11 - 30 kW) | Power module: P2
The technical details per configuration are discussed below.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Single-phase MIN (2.5 - 6 kW) | Power module P0
| Inverter: | Maximum AC output of the inverter | Minimum current protection | Minimum main connection |
| MIN 2500TL-XH | 11.3A | 16A | 25A |
| MIN 3000TL-XH | 13.6A | 20A | 25A |
| MIN 3600TL-XH | 16A | 20A | 25A |
| MIN 4200TL-XH | 19A | 25A | 35A |
| MIN 4600TL-XH | 20.9A | 35A | 40A |
| MIN 5000TL-XH | 22.7A | 35A | 40A |
| MIN 6000TL-XH | 27.2A | 35A | 40A |
The MIN series is compatible with both ARK and APX batteries. The main difference between these two systems is that the ARK uses a serial battery configuration. This means that the worst-performing battery affects the performance of the entire system, similar to how shading affects a string solar panel system.

Conclusion
The Growatt APX system offers flexible and scalable energy storage solutions for both small residential installations (MIN series) and larger commercial applications (MID series). By choosing the right combination of inverters, power modules, and batteries, an optimal system design can be realised that meets the specific requirements of the installation.
