Huawei EMMA - SmartAssistant

Huawei EMMA is a Home Energy Management System (HEMS) within Huawei FusionSolar. It monitors and controls generation, consumption, battery and feed-in and helps you increase self-consumption, among other things by smart scheduling with dynamic tariffs. Operation and monitoring are done via the FusionSolar app.

What is Huawei EMMA?

The Huawei EMMA is the smart “brain” of Huawei’s residential energy solution. The system is designed to optimally use solar power at home and intelligently distribute energy flows between household consumption, battery storage and smart consumers.

  • Note: secondary value CT = 50 mA

  Excess PV energy automatically goes to Huawei LUNA battery or to consumers such as EV chargers and heat pumps.

  Control based on consumption profiles, (expected) generation and energy prices.

• Dynamic energy tariffs
  Automatically responds to hourly prices: charge/use when favourable.

• Compatibility
  Supports LUNA S0/S1, Huawei EV chargers, SG-ready heat pumps and up to 20 Shelly devices.
  Compatible with Huawei inverters up to 25 kW.

Application

EMMA is used in houses with solar panels, often in combination with a home battery, EV charger and/or heat pump. Monitoring and control can be done locally and remotely via the FusionSolar app.

Installation in brief (main points)

1. Placement: mounting in meter cupboard/technical room according to guidelines.

2. Connecting: LAN/WAN, RS485 (where needed) and CT inputs for measurements.

   • Retrofit: 3rd party PV measured via CT or power sensor.

3. Pairing: register EMMA in FusionSolar for monitoring/configuration.

4. Configuring: add devices (LUNA, EV charger, SG-ready heat pump, Shelly).

5. Tariffs/logic: set fixed or dynamic prices for smart control.
