This allows up to 40% more usable energy to be extracted from the IQ Battery 5P & flexphase. Thanks to this innovation, the integrated microinverters always operate at their optimal efficiency. The result? More self-consumption, less conversion loss, lower costs and a longer battery lifespan.

What is Enphase PowerMatch™?
PowerMatch is a smart software solution that takes the performance of the IQ Battery 5P and the IQ Battery 5P Flexphase to the next level.
Where traditional systems operate with a single central inverter – which is always active regardless of the load – PowerMatch only switches on the microinverters that are needed at that moment.
The system:
Measures real-time electricity consumption in the home
Activates only the required microinverters
As a result, the inverters always operate within their optimal efficiency curve.
But how does it work exactly?
Each inverter has a so-called efficiency curve. This shows how efficiently an inverter converts electricity at different power levels.
At low loads – for example at night (100–200W) – traditional systems are often inefficient. A fixed 5 kW inverter then runs at a fraction of its capacity, resulting in significant conversion losses.
The Enphase IQ Battery 5P contains six microinverters. PowerMatch ensures automatic switching:
- Less consumption? Fewer active microinverters.
- More demand? More inverters switched on.
This minimises energy loss and optimises the use of every kilowatt-hour.
